Policies and Procedures

Information Policy

VingTravelInfo is an independent information service. We provide guidance about Austrian motorway vignettes for informational purposes only. We do not sell vignettes, process payments, or act as an agent for ASFINAG or any vignette retailer.

All information on this site is based on publicly available official sources, primarily ASFINAG publications and Austrian law. We make reasonable efforts to keep information current, but cannot guarantee that all information is accurate at all times.

Accuracy and Updates

We review our content regularly and update it when official prices or rules change. However, vignette prices and rules can change without notice. Always verify current prices and rules on the official ASFINAG website before travelling.

If you find an error on our site, please contact us at [email protected] and we will investigate promptly.

The following situations are outside the scope of our standard information service:

  • Disputes with ASFINAG about specific fines or penalties — contact ASFINAG directly

  • Vignette purchase transactions — use official ASFINAG channels or authorised retailers
  • Refund requests for purchased vignettes — ASFINAG does not offer refunds; contact them directly

Appeals Against Vignette Fines

If you have received a fine for a vignette violation and wish to appeal, this process is handled by ASFINAG, not by us. However, we can provide general guidance:

  • Contact ASFINAG in writing within the time limit specified on your fine notice
  • Provide your full name, vehicle registration, date and location of the alleged violation
  • Include any evidence (e.g., proof of valid vignette purchase, receipts, digital vignette confirmation)
  • ASFINAG's contact: Autobahnen- und Schnellstraßen-Finanzierungs-AG, Rotenturmstraße 5-9, 1010 Wien
  • For foreign-registered vehicles, the process may involve your home country's enforcement authorities
  • Seek legal advice if the fine amount is significant or if you believe the fine is clearly incorrect
